A closer look at each area we cover, what you receive and how we price it. Every engagement starts with a conversation about your goals, your car and your calendar.

Telemetry analysis

We work with data from MoTeC i2, AiM Race Studio 3, Bosch WinDarab and Pi Toolbox. If your logger records it, we can analyse it. The process is straightforward: you send us the session files (or hand over a USB stick at the circuit), and we return a structured report within 48 hours.

What the report includes

  • Corner-by-corner breakdown comparing your fastest lap to a theoretical best lap assembled from your own sector data
  • Brake pressure vs. speed overlays to identify late-release habits and threshold inconsistencies
  • Throttle application maps with percentage-of-travel analysis through each phase of corner exit
  • Steering angle traces to flag mid-corner corrections that cost time
  • Tyre temperature and pressure trends across a stint, with degradation rate estimates

For multi-driver cars (endurance races, arrive-and-drive events), we produce a driver comparison matrix so the team can see where each driver gains and loses relative to the others. This is particularly useful in Britcar and GT Cup where driver pairings change from round to round.

Simulation and vehicle setup

Arriving at a circuit with a good baseline setup saves time, tyres and money. We use lap-time simulation software (ChassisSim and OptimumLap) combined with a kinematic model of your car to predict how changes in spring rate, damper settings, anti-roll bar stiffness, ride height and camber will affect pace.

How it works in practice

Before the event, we build or update a vehicle model using your car's weight, centre-of-gravity height, wheelbase, track width, tyre data and aero coefficients. We then run the model around a virtual version of the circuit you are heading to. The output is a recommended setup window with upper and lower bounds for each adjustable parameter.

At the track, the engineer uses live data to fine-tune within that window. Because the starting point is already close, most cars need only two or three adjustment iterations rather than the five or six that a blind start requires. One client in 2024 estimated that this approach saved them the equivalent of a full test day (roughly £3,500 in circuit hire, fuel and tyre costs) at every new venue.

Seven-post rig correlation

If your car has been on a seven-post rig, we can import the measured damper dyno curves and platform response data directly into the simulation model. This tightens the correlation between predicted and actual lap times to within 0.3 seconds on most UK circuits.

Driver coaching

Our coaching is data-led, not opinion-led. The coach sits with the driver after each run, plays back synchronised video and telemetry, and identifies specific actions the driver can change on the next outing. No vague advice like "carry more speed." Instead: "Brake 8 metres later into Copse, release the pedal 0.4 seconds earlier, and pick up the throttle before the apex kerb."

Who coaches

Graham Tennant ran the data engineering programme for a Formula 3 team between 2016 and 2020. He has coached over 40 drivers across single-seaters, GT cars and touring cars. Fiona Hargreaves spent six seasons as a performance analyst in British GT before joining us in 2022. Between them, they cover circuit racing, hillclimb and sprint events.

Typical engagement

Most drivers book coaching for a test day first. That gives us a full day of uninterrupted track time to establish a baseline, set targets and make progress. From there, some drivers continue with race-weekend coaching (the coach is on the radio during sessions), while others prefer a quarterly check-in at a test day to measure improvement.

We have worked with complete novices preparing for their first Caterham Academy race and with experienced club racers chasing championship titles. The approach scales; the fundamentals of data-driven feedback are the same regardless of car or category.

Race engineering and event support

You get a qualified race engineer embedded in your team for the duration of the event. They handle radio communication, manage the pit board, call strategy (pit window timing, tyre selection, fuel loads) and liaise with scrutineers and race control on your behalf.

What is included

  • Pre-event briefing document covering circuit-specific setup notes, weather forecast analysis and competitor benchmarking from prior rounds
  • Live data monitoring during all sessions with real-time feedback to the driver
  • Post-session debrief with written summary and setup change log
  • End-of-weekend report covering performance trends, areas for development and recommendations for the next round

Our engineers travel with their own data systems, radios and pit equipment. They are self-sufficient. All they need from you is a workspace in the garage and access to the car between sessions.

Availability

We can support up to two cars at the same event. For championships with clashing rounds, book early. We confirm availability within 48 hours of enquiry and ask for a 50% deposit to secure the date.

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not here, call us on +44 141 765 0859 or email [email protected].

Do you only work with professional teams?

No. About half our clients are privateer or gentleman drivers running in club championships like the Caterham series, Mazda MX-5 Cup or CSCC. The data analysis process is the same regardless of car value or championship prestige.

Can you work with my existing data logger?

Almost certainly. We support MoTeC, AiM, Bosch, Pi, Racelogic VBOX and several OEM loggers (Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren). If your system exports CSV or a standard binary format, we can import it.

How far in advance should I book a race weekend?

Three to four weeks is ideal. For popular weekends (Silverstone, Brands Hatch GP circuit, Spa), we sometimes fill both slots six weeks out. A deposit secures the booking.

Do you travel outside the UK?

Yes. We regularly attend rounds at Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort and the Nürburgring. Travel and accommodation costs are added to the base fee at cost, with no markup.

What if I only want a one-off telemetry report?

That is fine. There is no minimum commitment. Send us the data files, pay the report fee, and you will have the analysis back within two working days. Many clients start with a single report and then decide whether ongoing support makes sense for them.

Can your coaches help with sim racing?

We focus on real-world circuit racing. However, we have used iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione as preparation tools with drivers who want to learn a new circuit layout before a real test day. We do not offer standalone sim coaching as a service.
